I can’t recall a time in my life when I wasn’t drawn to people’s stories. Professionally, this led me to become a journalist, an occupation where I heard others’ stories during interviews. Eventually, I became a counselor, a profession where my clients’ stories are treated as sacred and are held in confidence. Our stories reveal who we are, where we came from, what we value, and what we long to change. Your story matters, and you deserve access to a safe, supportive space where you can share it. My goal is to create a nonjudgmental environment where you feel comfortable to grieve losses and painful experiences, find meaning, explore your values, navigate difficult circumstances, and celebrate your strengths. I especially value my work with those in the midst of significant life transitions. Some examples are: working alongside college students making decisions about areas of study and careers, people grieving the deaths of loved ones, parents experiencing challenging parenting issues, clients going through spiritual confusion or deconstruction, and individuals undergoing divorce. The decision to reach out to a counselor may feel overwhelming and frightening, but it is a courageous step. It would be my honor to be part of this phase of your story.
