Introduction

Ms. Danner was born and raised in Westchester County, New York. She completed her undergraduate degree from Salisbury University in Maryland, receiving a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology with a track in Childhood Development. She worked as a preschool teacher before obtaining her graduate degrees from Marshall University, which included a Masters of Arts in Elementary Education and an Education Specialist Degree in School Psychology. For the last ten years, Ms. Danner has been employed as a school psychologist in New York and Connecticut and remains an active member of the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). She has experience working in both public and private schools, non-profit organizations, and therapeutic residential boarding schools. Ms. Danner has specialized training in school-related assessment and educational intervention for children. Her experience has been multifaceted; she specializes in working with children who have been diagnosed with autism, ADHD, and anxiety. She offers therapeutic services using a variety of techniques to improve a child’s ability to cope with behavioral, social, communication, and self-esteem deficits by providing counseling/therapy and is a certified Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) provider. Ms. Danner also works with parents and teachers as a behavior interventionist, offering guidance and strategies to meet the needs of the whole child. In addition to therapy, she also conducts testing for giftedness and learning disabilities and comprehensive assessments for autism (including the ADOS) and ADHD. Outside of her professional career, Ms. Danner enjoys participating in holistic practices such as reiki, pilates, and yoga and enjoys spending quality time at the beach with her family and friends. Ms. Danner also volunteers within the community with her therapy dog.
