I am a second generation Chinese-American clinical psychologist. I completed postdoctoral training at Stanford University and have expertise in teaching tools to navigate intense emotions such as anxiety and anger, and improve self-confidence and relationship satisfaction. I also specialize in teaching communication skills for couples and families such as conflict resolution, setting and maintaining boundaries, and expressing and getting relationship needs met. I'm particularly passionate about working with first or second generation immigrants and individuals from a multicultural background. I utilize the evidence-based treatments of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and schema therapy in my practice. These modalities are action-oriented, and I often collaborate with clients on creating homework outside of sessions to work on specific goals. I believe that we are all doing the best that we can. At the same time, we can always learn new skills and ways of communication. My therapeutic style emphasizes compassion while being collaborative and action-focused. Please reach out if you think we could be a good fit. I offer sliding scale options and can accommodate a range of financial needs.
