Working in the field of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, chemical dependency and eating disorders has taught me that recovery is possible and it's different for everyone. My "happy place" as a therapist is when I have the opportunity to work alongside motivated, adult clients who are looking to reduce & relieve distress in their lives caused by substance use, eating disorders and/or postpartum difficulties. I am no stranger to mood and anxiety disorders; often coming from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and DBT skill-building framework. Whew! That feels like a lot...humor, although underrated, is often woven into the therapeutic process. I have worked with a multitude of populations in the emergency room, residential and outpatient settings. I also have post-Master's training in EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, addictions and eating disorders, as well as continue to receive clinical training in postpartum mood and anxiety disorders, as I believe learning does not end. I believe in the necessity of a non-judgmental and safe therapeutic environment to foster the greatest potential for behavioral change, and whole heartedly believe change looks unique for each individual.
