As a Licensed Professional Counselor since 2005, I have had the pleasure of working with individuals struggling with various types of anxiety and of depression, often due to earlier traumas, as well as various issues contributing to emotional and psychological stress in their daily lives. More recently I have worked with couples, married and pre-maritally, and with women's health issues of PMS, PMDD, peri- and post-partum depression. I have also worked with individuals recovering from addictions or compulsions of their own or others that have impacted them. My primary modes of treatment include the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy including Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy and aspects of William Glasser's Reality Theory. Understanding issues of co-dependence whether substance related or not is often explored. When sought by or of significance to the client, I include the role of spirituality, using biblical principles as the guide. My practice is limited to adults 18 and over. I do not accept insurance but do accept HSA cards. My fee of $95. is about 1/4 less than that of the average cost for professional counseling in the Shenandoah Valley where I live. I am available for a 10 to 15 minute charge-free consultation by phone related to the suitability of a potential client/ counselor relationship prior to making an appointment. Sessions are available both in-person at my office in Staunton, VA and/or through telehealth. I can best be reached via email at linda.nelsonlpc@gmail.com or by text at 540-290-4035 letting me know best times for a call back to you. Please do not leave voicemail. Linda Nelson, Licensed Professional Counselor, Staunton, VA
