I'm Lindsey Cavin, a California Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 10 years of experience providing authentic and compassionate mental health care to adolescents, and adults. I take an integrative holistic approach to therapy, drawing from various evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solutions-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). By tailoring interventions to each individual, coupled with goal setting, I aim to provide personalized and effective treatment. With a range of specialties including Anxiety, Depression, ADHD, Neurodiversity, LGBTQ+, Life Transitions, Relationships, Self-Esteem, Codependency, Addiction, and Substance Abuse, I believe in the transformative power of therapy to bring positive change to people's lives. My passion is helping individuals discover their strengths, cultivate resilience, and navigate life's challenges with confidence and resilience. If you are ready to begin, I am here to support you along this journey with humility and empathy. I consider myself a self-proclaimed "new age" therapist in that I will not remain quiet while occasionally asking "how does that make you feel?", but rather I will listen, conversate, challenge, share laughter, and use relevant real-life examples while exploring your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Keeping it real and judgment-free are among my top superpowers. We will work together to break cycles, implement new coping skills, improve communication and boundaries, demand healthy relationships, improve our self-talk, and so much more. Above all, we will work on building a safe, trusting, and positive therapeutic relationship where you feel comfortable exploring the most sensitive sides of yourself. I value collaboration and will always meet you where you are to help you grow your innate strengths already present within. As a Neurodivergent-Affirming therapist, I celebrate and emphasize the strengths that make you uniquely you. I'm aware of the nuances of Neurodiversity and am passionate about supporting you in a way that speaks specifically to you. Whether your goals include healing wounds from functioning in a neurotypical world, strengthening self-acceptance, advocating for needs/preferences, building upon social skills, identifying executive skill strategies, or just simply having someone who "gets it", I am here to assist you through this process. Regardless of where you might be in your own neurodiversity journey (childhood, adult, or self-diagnosis), we can work to uncover and value your authentic self. When it comes to working with Teens, I thrive on the challenge and take a special, individualized approach that is in touch with the nuances of today's society. I pride myself on creating a strong therapeutic relationship even in the face of resistance and difficulty. Tough teens are my jam, and I bring a delicate balance of relatability, boundaries, and guidance. By building trust, I provide meaningful and relevant support and interventions to aid successful development through adolescence. When not working with my clients, you can find me hiking with my dog, spending time with friends and family, catching Bay Area sunsets, dancing like no one's watching, and traveling to my heart's content.
