I specialize in working with people who tend to have trouble being open and vulnerable with others, feel more guarded or with a need to lean on only themselves, and have experienced trauma, invalidation, and disconnection with family and those that were meant to be caregivers or supports. These experiences and responses can tend to lead to anxiety, fear of rejection, depression and isolation, and intense amounts of self criticism and shame. Together we can explore how what was learned and experienced when younger has a present impact and what you can do differently presently and learn to show up in different and more effective ways both for yourself and those you care about. Something that might be unique about my approach is to make sure you have an understanding about not just what we are exploring, but the why of what we are exploring. I want you to ask questions and I want the process to be as collaborative as possible.
