Hello! My name is Lisa (she/her/hers) and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA) in North Carolina. I am originally from Cincinnati, Ohio and relocated to Raleigh in late 2019. In my spare time I enjoy reading, music, being outside in the sunshine, and spending time with my husband, two cats, and our friends and families. EXPERTISE I earned my Masters in Social Work from Winthrop University in 2023. Currently, I’m a National Provider of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and am working towards becoming trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) as well as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) to treat trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. I have experience working with individuals from across the lifespan. I have worked with clients dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, PTSD/trauma symptoms, disordered eating, stress, and life transitions. My experience includes inpatient hospitalization with children and individuals through private practice. COUNSELING APPROACHES I work with my clients from a strengths based and client centered holistic focus. Each person is the expert of their unique experience and I believe in meeting my clients where they are and looking at all aspects of life. I bring forward approaches that are shown to help with a client’s specific needs and goals. We will work together to determine your goals, and celebrate your successes along the way, no matter how small they seem. Treatment approaches I use include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), mindfulness-based, independent work, and more. I also offer the option to take our sessions outside through Walk & Talk sessions so we can enjoy the weather, when it permits, during our time. My therapy style is one that finds a balance between connecting as humans and maintaining professional boundaries with my clients. I believe having a comfortable and safe environment provides the space for growth.
