Lynn is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Cognitive Behavioral Therapist and Certified Forensic Counselor from Lake Worth, Florida. He has a passion for working clinically with clients that are veterans, active duty, their families, first responders, couples, adults, and adolescents. Those with co-occurring disorders, family issues, gender issues, self-esteem, and members of the LGBTQIA community. Along with treating those suffering from navigating the trauma of PTSD, he further has long experience treating anxiety, depression, anger, Bipolar and OCD disorders, Lynn specializes in forensic assessment and evaluation, sentencing mitigation, criminal offender counseling, and child custody evaluations. Further, treating those who suffer from substance use and abuse, dependency, and codependency. Lynn’s principal treatment employs Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) where he obtained certification over 19 years ago. This is an evidenced based practice focusing on your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors and how they are part of the cognitive triad that impact us. However, he remains selectively eclectic, adapting differing treatment modalities as your individual and unique situation requires for best results, including, Behavioral, Cognitive, Client-Centered, and Brief Solution Focused, Motivational, and Sports Psychology, employing a holistic approach for Lynn and you to deal collaboratively with your issues from multiple avenues for best results. Lynn has 20+ experience in treating Mental Health and substance abuse issues, a US military veteran and former athlete. He earned his Master’s in Clinical Psychology at Salisbury University and did post graduate studies at the Philadelphia School of Osteopathic Medicine where he earned certification in CBT. Due to extensive time living outside the USA, in numerous countries, Lynn has developed sensitivity to the many cultural issues that are present in today’s clientele. Not only has he had coursework in this very prevalent topic but has been able to experience it firsthand, making him attuned to how it impacts therapy and the therapeutic alliance. Lynn believes that in his practice, his clients, if they exert some effort and work collaboratively with him, can effectively overcome any obstacle. He has a unique view and experience with CBT that results in long-lasting behavioral changes using evidence-based treatment and care. He feels he has been successful with his practice due to working with the client in a committed therapeutic alliance that is genuine where the client understands that he is there for them while providing a safe and non-judgmental space for clients to explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
