I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker who is licensed to provide mental health counseling. I graduated from California State University, Long Beach in 2004 with my Master’s of Social Work (MSW). I spent several years working as a social worker for a Foster Family Agency before having children. I stayed home with my children for 8 years and then returned to work. I have spent the past 6 and a half years providing mental health therapy for children, teens, adults and families. I approach therapy from a strengths-based, cognitive behavioral lens and see our time together as a partnership where we work together to accomplish your goals. I utilize relaxation and mindfulness skills, and work on changing unhelpful thinking patterns to more helpful thought processes. I also know that the therapeutic relationship is the most significant aspect of the counseling experience and it is important to me that we develop good communication as we work together. I have experience providing therapy for a wide variety of individuals and families. I work with children ages 3-12 years on anxiety, depression, trauma and behavioral concerns. I also work with adults on anxiety, depression, trauma and coping with life transitions. As a Medicare provider, I also have experience working with adults who are over 65 years of age.
