MacKenzie Miller

LPC Silver Psychotherapy
Specialties: Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Parenting, Child or Adolescent,

Introduction

I have several years of experience working with children, teens, parents and caregivers in outpatient settings. I have recently expanded my scope of practice to include individual work with adults as well. I utilize personalized and integrative approaches to best fit the needs of each client or family. I am thoroughly trained in evidence-based models to treat PTSD and other trauma reactions including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) for children, teens, and families, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for all ages. I am also thoroughly trained in helping elementary aged children manage problematic sexual behaviors (PSB), with or without the context of trauma. I can also help clients cope with anxiety, depression, life transitions, stress management, and other mental health challenges. I enjoy teaching mindfulness skills as well as somatic experiencing techniques to assist clients in recognizing the mind-body connection and finding meaningful ways to process stress and/or trauma. I can also assist parents and caregivers of young children by teaching child centered play therapy (CCPT) techniques that they can utilize at home.
