I have a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University, and am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Virginia. I work primarily with adolescents and young adults, with a clinical focus on anxiety, depression, and disordered eating. After completing an internship at an eating disorder intensive outpatient program, I now often work with individuals experiencing symptoms ranging from food restriction to emotional eating. My experience rowing at the University of New Hampshire also left me with special interest in working with athletes to establish a healthy mind-body connection. I operate with an eclectic approach, with the belief that psychodynamic, humanistic, and cognitive-behavioral theories all have valuable core components. I see the counseling process as reflection, honing existing strengths, and applying new strategies to increase fulfillment. Finding your right fit is important, so I am happy to set up a complimentary 30-minute consultation in my office to discuss goals and review policies. If we decide not to work together, I will provide you with referrals for other clinicians.
