I received my Master of Education and Educational Specialist Degree from the University of South Carolina and my Ph.D. in Counselor Education from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia. My career began at Dorchester District II schools, where I worked as a school counselor. While in this position, I also co-facilitated classes for the University of North Carolina. I began my private practice in 2004, leaving education in 2010 and working full-time in private practice. I have training and experience in treating anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, other mood disorders, attention disorders, adjustment disorders, grief/loss, and defiant behavior in children and adolescents. I offer individual, couple, and marital therapy services and treat patients aged 8 and older. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral and Solution Focused strategies in my sessions which tend to be briefer in duration. I am also trained in hypnosis, which can be used to enhance therapy.
