Introduction

Dr. Madison Olsen is a New York State licensed child and adolescent psychologist as well as a nationally certified school psychologist. Dr. Lee received her B.A. from Pace University, where she majored in Applied Psychology. She acquired her M.S. and PsyD in School-Clinical Child Psychology from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology, Yeshiva University. In addition to working in private practice, Dr. Olsen is employed as a full-time middle school psychologist within the Katonah Lewisboro School District. Dr. Olsen specializes in evidence based treatments for children and adolescents with various challenges, including but not limited to generalized anxiety, social anxiety, obsessions, compulsions, school refusal, depression, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, autism, and executive functioning. Dr. Olsen has specialized training and extensive experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, Parent Management Training and Organizational Skills Training. Dr. Olsen has worked in various public and private schools, residential treatment facilities, and hospital settings. Dr. Olsen completed her pre-doctoral internship within the Harrison Central School District. She worked in two of their elementary schools and was the primary school psychologist who supported the district’s Emotional Support Program. Dr. Olsen also has substantial training in neuropsychological assessment. At the Center for Pediatric Neuropsychology at the Mount Sinai Hospital Center, Dr. Olsen conducted neuropsychological assessments to determine appropriate recommendations for academic, attention, executive functioning, memory, language and social-emotional difficulties. Dr. Olsen collaborated with families and outside providers to ensure the implementation of recommendations, in addition to determining appropriate school placements based upon the evaluation results. Dr. Olsen has extensive experience collaborating and consulting with school personnel to address social/emotional, behavioral, and academic concerns. Dr. Olsen is extremely knowledgeable about the Committee on Special Education and 504 referral process, in addition to Response to Intervention (RtI). Dr. Olsen supports families with accessing services and appropriate accommodations, as well as with the development of social emotional goals within the school setting. Dr. Olsen's doctoral research focused on the relationship between intelligence, academic achievement, and executive functioning, which she has presented at professional conferences. Dr. Olsen is a member of the American Psychological Association, National Association of School Psychologists, NY Association of School Psychologists and Westchester County Psychological Associates. She also serves as the mental health professional on the Lucky Orphans Horse Rescue therapy committee, which serves children and adolescents who may have greater difficulty responding to traditional therapy modalities.
