My personal and professional experience is broad and colorful, and provide me with the love, patience and understanding that have fueled my passion for a career as a psychotherapist. I am a California native, and although I have traveled the world, Oakland and the San Francisco Bay Area have always been my home. I am a well-seasoned mother of two, and a curious and compassionate woman. Perhaps my greatest strength as a therapist is my ability to see the world through my clients' eyes, so we can easily get right to work. I am particularly interested in addressing traumatic and other major life events, developing new facets of one's identity at various life stages, and helping with parenting, partner, and other significant relationship issues. I’ve successfully worked with hundreds of clients of all ages from a wide variety of cultural and economic backgrounds, with issues ranging from anxiety and depression to severe mental health conditions and substance use. In our sessions we will create an environment where you feel safe to explore freely. My therapeutic approach is active, I engage my clients in thoughtful discovery and encourage the practice of new and more desirable thoughts and behaviors that ultimately result in feeling better. Together we will work toward transforming issues that cause upset and distress into areas of growth and power. If you are ready to schedule an appointment, or you're still on the fence, book a free 15-minute consultation where you can get to know me a bit and see if we are a good fit.
