Greetings, I'm Malton Cook, a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) based in Texas and virtually in the states of Missouri and Arizona as an Licensed Professional Counselor. With a foundation in Psychology from the University of Texas at Dallas and a Masters of Art in Professional Counseling from Amberton University, I have been immersed in the mental health field since 2011. Over the years, I've honed my skills in diverse settings such as inpatient mental health treatment, outpatient mental health treatment, residential dual diagnosis treatment, and integrated behavioral health. My clientele spans a wide age range, from 18 to 85, and I specialize in addressing adjustment issues, life transitions, depression, anger management, mood disorders, and cater to millennials, individuals of color, and the LGBTQIA+ community. In my therapeutic approach, I blend person-centered and solution-focused methodologies. Recognizing that clients are the architects of their own lives, I collaborate with them to explore alternative perspectives and actions, ultimately enhancing their satisfaction with life. Additionally, I integrate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) to help clients modify thought patterns and behaviors, alleviating their presenting symptoms. My overarching goal is to create a safe and comfortable environment, providing support as individuals embark on their journey towards positive change. I am here to partner with you in achieving your identified goals. Let's navigate this path together.
