Life freedom. What does this mean? After over 24 years of working with clients in therapeutic settings, one of the constants that I have seen is that most people want to have choices. Yes, it’s true that each and every one of us have our own set of responsibilities, difficulties, and personal life tragedies, but I have also found that our commonality as human beings is that we want the same basic right... freedom to choose. No one wants to be told, "You can only do things this one way!" However, many of us have been taught these lessons in our lives, whether we wanted to learn them or not. Some things happen to us that we have no control over. But how we choose to respond is another matter altogether. Life Freedom Counseling, LLC attempts to help you find out what YOUR choices are, rather than for you to feel obligated to maintain a pattern of behavior that keeps you from reaching your potential. My goal is to help you find out that your life, your situation, does not leave you with only one choice that leads to anger, heartache, dissatisfaction, misery, or frustration… but that you have choices. Life Freedom is a possible choice for you. I enjoy working with people who are determined to find ways to feel more motivated, escape the grip of depression and anxiety, and are trying to understand the best ways to communicate in difficult situations. My approach to therapy includes a focus on self-perception, beliefs, roles learned through life, and clarification/understanding. My specializations include depression, anxiety, grief, vocation and career, and parenting. My undergraduate degree in Psychology was obtained at Bowling Green State University. I obtained my Masters Degree in Counseling, along with my Education Specialist Certification, School Counselor Focus, Agency Focus, and Clinical Supervision training through Wayne State University.
