People come to me because they struggle with out-of-control feeling behaviors and want to take concrete steps to make a change in their life. We might be a good fit for working together if you struggle with impulsive behaviors such as binge eating, overspending, snapping at loved ones, or lying. In my work I balance being warm and caring with pushing my clients to make changes that help them build the lives they dream of. Together we will identify what has gotten you stuck in these behaviors and will help you build the skill set to move past them. I approach this work with tenderness because people who come to me typically feel deep shame around these old patterns. Together we work through the shame and help you get unstuck. I work with adults of all ages, with a focus on students, young adults and new or expecting parents. I welcome queer folks and folks in non-monogamous relationships. I always attempt to work from an anti-racist, body-inclusive and trauma-informed perspective. I believe that therapy should be a deeply collaborative process. This means no two sessions ever look the same because I am always responding to the individual needs of the person I'm working with. In my work I draw from a variety of evidence-based approaches to help my client's achieve their goals, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
