Marisa Kamada is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist born and raised in Honolulu. Went to school in Eugene, Oregon at Northwest Christian University, now known as Bushnell University, where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. She later attended Argosy University, in Honolulu, Hawaii, where she received her Master's Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. She obtained her licensure with the State of Hawaii in 2015. Through her experience over the past 10 years she has found that she has a passion with working with individuals who are noticing a willingness to be open to how therapy could help them address what they are wanting to change. She has also found that she enjoys working with couples who are seeking growth within themselves and their relationships. She utilizes a variety of client-centered approaches with her clients as believes every person is unique and processes their experiences differently. Some of the approaches that she uses, but are not limited to, are experiential therapy, solution focused therapy, strategic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy.
