Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Illuminated Life Therapy
Specialties: Relationship Issues, Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, LGBTQIA+,

Introduction

Welcome! My name is Marisa (pronounced Muh-Ree-Suh), and I am the Founder of Illuminated Life Therapy. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT 136357) based in beautiful San Diego, California, and it is my hope that I can provide you with a safe space for healing, growth, and commitment to a meaningful life. With a passion for creating a supportive and non-judgmental environment, I aim to be authentic and thoughtful in my approach throughout the therapeutic journey, encouraging you to do the same. I have nearly 10 years of experience working in the field of mental health across various community settings in San Diego and throughout California. I offer individual mental health therapy to Adults and Teens, specializing in work with young adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and trauma related to relationships. My therapeutic approach is a gentle, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive approach blended with humor and creativity that ideally allows space for you to safely explore emotions, feel encouraged, and develop new insights. I strive to genuinely connect with you and support you in: increasing emotional awareness and vulnerability, developing a sense of control and comfort with yourself, creating new empowering narratives that best fit you, and taking actions that are in line with your unique values. I currently offer Virtual therapy and Walk and Talk therapy in Balboa Park if you are located in San Diego. I understand that taking the first step towards seeking support is a courageous decision. If you are ready to get started or have any questions, I invite you to reach out, and look forward to connecting! Learn more about Illuminated Life Therapy: www.illuminatedlifetherapy.com
