Introduction

I specialize and have significant experience in providing therapy for adults, teens and children with ADHD, anxiety, trauma, problems with self-esteem, and individuals experiencing challenging life transitions. I offer individual and family therapy and sometimes offer groups focused on the clinical issues described above. The types of trauma I specialize in helping with include emotional abuse, sexual abuse, bullying, narcissistic abuse, intimate partner violence, and childhood emotional neglect. The types of anxiety I help best with include social anxiety, general anxiety, and anxiety related to trauma or in combination with ADHD symptoms. I greatly enjoy helping young or older individuals with ADHD with varying treatment needs including understanding their individualized challenges and strengths, developing skills to help with challenges and to reach goals, understanding and processing emotional experiences related to ADHD, building self-confidence, increasing self-acceptance, and addressing shame, strengthening relationships, improving boundary setting with others, increasing self-care and many other areas. If any of these things feel like treatment needs for you or your child, please email me at Marissa@therapysecure.com or call me at 704-800-5405 to set up a brief free telephone consultation.
