I believe in helping individuals discover their own strengths and truths about themselves in order to address any issues they are experiencing. Everyone has a desire to be loved and accepted as well as a need to discover their own purpose in life. This discovery often promotes motivation and goal setting to assist with growing deeper within oneself and relationally with others. I love to see clients set goals and then work to achieve them. There is such a feeling of accomplishment for a person when they finally carry out what they have been working towards I work from a strengths based perspective. I like to utilize a variety of theoretical perspectives but I tend to work with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy along with DBT with a focus on reframing negative thought patterns. I also like to work with clients to establish achievable goals and develop suitable coping skills as well as effective communication skills.
