We were created to live a life of joy, peace, health and freedom. The problem is living in a broken world inevitably leaves us all experiencing some sort of pain, hurt, and brokenness. God designed us to receive, contain, and broadcast, but often times what we receive in the world is more harmful than helpful, leaving us to contain something we were never meant to. This can lead to a way of existing far different than the one we’re meant to, without a sense of hope or idea of how to take back what was lost and be reconnected to the true self within. The good news is it’s never too late and there is always hope to redeem and discover the real you. After seeing the power and healing of counseling in my own life, I decided to professionally pursue my hearts truest desire which is to help others find identity and purpose in who they were created to be and live a life of freedom in the midst of the hurts and sufferings. I have a license in Marriage and Family Therapy with a masters from Abilene Christian University. I also have a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from San Jose State University, where I played football, and continued that football journey coaching in high school for the last 11 years. I am married to my wife Kelsey and together we have one young son, Ford, along with three gentle-giant Great Pyrenees. My primary desire in counseling is to create a safe space for you, your mind, and your body to process what it needs. Some issues addressed in my office are depression, anxiety, addictive behaviors, grief and loss, ADHD coping, destructive thinking, unhealthy communication, relationship problems, and identity struggles. I also have a unique passion to work with athletes since I was one myself, using the methods above coupled with a more centered approach mental coaching and sports performance. Most importantly, you will be met with compassion and empathy as we work collaboratively through the areas where change is desired, with the goal being to find and heal the root cause, empowering you to move forward in confidence. I believe that God has a beautiful plan, purpose, and future for each individual who leans into the healing and redemption available for all and am thankful if I can even play a small piece in someone’s journey towards that process.
