Introduction

BIOGRAPHY: Matt Scott works as an affiliated therapist with Gay Resources of the Ozarks (GRO) and Aids Projects of the Ozarks (APO). Matt graduated from Missouri State University with a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. While there, Matt collaborated with Dr. Cornelius-White to study the mental health and social support experiences of transgender and gender-nonconforming adults in rural America. Their article is published in the Journal of Gay and Lesbian Mental Health. TRAINING: Somatic Integrative Processing I and II (Beyond Healing Springfield, MO), 2022 EMDR Basics (The EMDR Training Academy based out of Colorado Springs, CO), 2022 Gottman Method Couples Therapy Level 1 and Level 2 (The Gay Couples Institute in San Francisco, CA), 2019/2020 Trauma-Informed Sandtray Therapy (provided by Dr. Leslie Anderson), 2020 PRICING: Individual counseling $100* per 50-minute session Couples counseling $125* per 50-minute session *If you have financial restrictions, please ask about my sliding scale (with session rates ranging from $60-$80). I am also happy to be a referral resource if you are needing less expensive alternatives. My desire is to ensure all clients who are seeking counseling are able to receive mental health support within their financial means. THE SPACE: In my twenties, I spent a significant amount of time in the theatre. I loved being a performer, but some of my favorite moments were shared in an offstage space called The Green Room. The Green Room became a second living space for the cast and crew and was a place where everyone could just show up as their authentic selves. I love the metaphor of the green room for my therapeutic practice. If "all the world is a stage", the green room is the space where we can release our many characters in life and connect with our true selves.
