My name is Matt Lamb, and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor offering therapy both online and in person in Juneau, Alaska. Before becoming a therapist, I spent over a decade working in the construction trades. After a back injury and other life changes, I began searching for a new direction—one that ultimately led me to a career in supporting others. I started this path while working in a substance use inpatient rehabilitation center in Western New York, where I saw firsthand how often mental health concerns were overlooked in those struggling with substance use disorders. I decided then to make it my goal to treat the whole person—not just isolated symptoms—through a holistic and systematic approach. After earning my Master’s in Counseling in my home region of Western New York, I worked with youth and families in the inner city of Rochester. I moved to Juneau in 2020 and have since worked with JAMHI and other community agencies, serving a wide range of individuals and families. Over time, I’ve grown roots in Juneau and fallen in love with my new home. My clinical focus has expanded from substance and alcohol use disorders to include the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), overcoming grief, and adjustment-related challenges. I became EMDRIA-certified in EMDR therapy in 2022. I also incorporate other evidence-based approaches such as Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and mindfulness-based modalities including Brainspotting. I accept Aetna and Premera Blue Cross and can bill these insurance providers directly. For all other insurance plans, I can provide a superbill that you may submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. Payment for out-of-network services is made by credit card at the time of the session.
