I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (MC61441834) in Washington State, and I work under the supervision of Dr. Dawn Lyman Meyer, PsyD. (PY00003292). I have a Bachelor of Arts in English from Reed College and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Washington State University. I have a Master's of Library and Information Science from the University of Washington, and I obtained my Master of Arts in Existential Phenomenological Psychology from Seattle University. I completed an internship and later worked as a Clinician II at Valley Cities Behavioral Health in downtown Seattle. I work well with adults impacted by PTSD / trauma, anxiety, depression, LGBTQ+ concerns, existential concerns, and relationship issues. I am fully trained in and working towards full certification in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR). I have an eclectic, strengths-based, and collaborative approach to therapy. In my work, I help clients develop distress tolerance skills, reprocess traumatic experiences with EMDR and narrative therapy, and use existential therapy to help people rediscover purpose and meaning to move forward. Some other tools that I use in therapy include psychodynamic theory and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT).
