Introduction

Hello! I’m Dr. Matt; thank you for your interest and curiosity in me and my work. I’m a licensed clinical psychologist who believes in the power of connection—connection to ourselves, our communities, and the legacies of those who came before us. I envision therapy as a space where healing can happen, and I’m here to support people from all walks of life on their journeys. I am honored and privileged to care for individuals and couples of all ages, backgrounds, identities, and abilities, creating a space that’s brave, supportive, and affirming. I bring a culturally responsive, anti-oppressive, and healing-centered perspective to my work, focusing on the impact of historical, personal, and systemic traumas while holding space for hope, resilience, and growth. In our work together, I use mindfulness, body-focused practices, and a blend of therapeutic approaches to help you better understand yourself, build inner strength, and create meaningful change in your life. My style draws from psychodynamic, humanistic, existential, and somatic perspectives while also honoring wisdom from non-Western healing traditions. This allows me to tailor our sessions to your unique needs and goals, empowering you to cultivate deeper relationships—with yourself, your loved ones, and the world around you. I’m especially passionate about supporting people with marginalized identities and addressing the collective wounds caused by systemic oppression. I specialize in working with people of African descent (including Afro-Latinx, African American, Afro-Caribbean, and African immigrant communities), Indigenous and First Nations peoples, Latine/Latinx individuals, members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, older adults, and couples. Some of the concerns I can help with include: Anxiety and depression; Trauma and PTSD (including complex trauma and relationship violence); Substance use challenges; Identity exploration and life transitions; Gender-affirming care; Grief and loss, including end-of-life care; and co-occurring medical and mental health concerns. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, empowered, and connected in your life. Whether you’re navigating personal struggles, healing from past wounds, or simply looking to better understand yourself, I’m here to walk alongside you.
