I hold a Doctorate and a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology, from the American School of Professional Psychology, Washington, DC; a Master's degree in Counseling from Seton Hall University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary and Early Childhood Education, from Bucknell University. I have been a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) since 2005 & have over 25 years of experience treating children & adults with a variety of mental health concerns & diagnoses. I am a nationally certified counselor, a multi-state Licensed Professional Counselor, have worked in schools, both as a teacher and a counselor and have experience working in group homes, hospitals, and outpatient settings. Additionally, I have worked in adult correctional facilities, providing inmate care and have provided probational counseling to juveniles. I also teach psychology classes at local colleges and universities and am an active volunteer in the community. I have a strong focus on proper diagnostic assessment, paired with empathic treatment planning. I also enjoy working with students and Residents, and am a board-approved LPC Supervisor in the state of Virginia. During sessions with me, clients can expect to be challenged as well as nurtured. I provide a safe environment, in which I hope my patients grow to feel heard and understood. When requested, I incorporate a sensitive Biblical approach to the techniques of cognitive behavioral & family therapies.
