Max Parrella has a wide range of clinical experience, primarily working with children, adolescents and young adults. Numerous clients and clinicians have expressed that Max’s greatest strength is building powerful relationships with his clients. Before founding RISE Therapy, Max was in solo private practice working with children, teens, and young adults where he developed a high level of expertise in working with the Gen Z population. He was also a therapist at an alternative school working with adolescents from all over the city of Chicago and its suburbs. Max has worked with many clients who are considered ‘gifted,’ as well as young people with disabilities such as autism and Down syndrome. His substantial experience with such a wide variety of populations provides Max with the tremendous ability to connect with any client. Outside of clinical work, Max extensively studied classical history, American history, political analysis, psychology, clinical social work, and social policy. His background in these fields gives Max a unique perspective on the various political and social events that have occurred on a global scale, many of which have caused distress to our communities. By combining his knowledge of both macro-level systems and clinical social work, complemented by psychological theory, Max has the ability to understand how the minds of individuals can impact entire societies and how social environments and policies can impact the individual. Max has used this knowledge to advocate for an array of state policy changes in Springfield, IL.
