Maya is a Licensed Creative Arts Therapist in the State of New York. She has been a life long resident of Western New York. She attended Alfred University; graduating in 2013 with her Bachelors in Fine Arts (BFA) and a minor in Spanish. She attended Nazareth College's Graduate Creative Arts Therapy Program and graduated with her Master's of Science (MS) in 2015. Her graduate studies included concentrations in trauma and sexual abuse. She has since practiced in a variety of settings with individuals of all ages; serving adults navigating dual diagnosis and perinatal mental health as well as children/adolescents/adults/families who have experienced trauma. Maya has a background in perinatal mental health, anxiety, depression, and trauma. She also offers support to professionals who may be experiencing burnout, vicarious trauma, and secondary trauma. Maya's passion for being a therapist directly stems from her own therapeutic journey navigating trauma recovery and postpartum anxiety. Maya values and encourages each individual's right to choice; choosing if, how, and when they share their story. Trained in both Early Infant Mental Health and Child Parent Psychotherapy, Maya regularly uses these skills in additional to a variety of other trauma-informed interventions. She attends trainings and pursues continuing education to keep up-to-date with skills and techniques to support her clients; ensuring best care.
