I am a clinical social worker and one of the founders of Rooted. I am grateful to say that I am living out my calling. Transitioning my career path to social work while studying pre law at Baylor was purely an act of faith and this path couldn’t align more with my values, talents and passion for connection. I earned my Bachelor and Master of Social Work at Baylor University in 2008/2009. I started my first baby social worker job at an inpatient behavioral health facility. I learned so much about acute mental health and recognized the value of therapy and education in coping with symptoms of mental illness. From that moment, my journey took various directions. I continued my medical social work journey in home health, organizational development, marketing, community education and returned to the hospital setting. Regardless of the setting, the importance of self awareness, education and understanding in the realm of mental health and wellness continued to be priority for me. In 2016, my journey in direct clinical practice began.I obtained my clinical license and pursued various training opportunities including EAP specialization, Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR,) The Daring Way™️ Curriculum (based in the research of Dr. Brenè Brown,) Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and others. Building and implementing an internal employee assistance program blossomed into a thriving, community-based therapeutic practice. Through personal experience, passion and natural leanings…the primary population I serve are teens and women. I specialize in working with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, personality disorders, post partum depression & anxiety, eating disorders and helping people overcome shame and hurdles that hold them back from experiencing their most authentic life. I would love to partner with you on your journey towards joy.
