Megan is a master’s level intern in Clinical Mental Health, finishing her graduate program with fieldwork. With the latest theories and methods in mind, she is prepared to provide safe and effective therapy. Highly motivated to walk with individuals through life’s challenges, she provides a collaborative approach to the therapeutic process, ensuring that techniques suit the client’s needs. Megan is particularly interested in a holistic approach to treating anxiety, depression, PTSD, mood disorders, relationship issues, children/adolescents, family issues, addiction, as well as postpartum and other women’s issues. Treatment modalities she may use include cognitive behavior therapy, mindfulness practices, motivational interviewing, acceptance and commitment therapy, narrative therapy, and some psychoanalytic approaches. She uses an integration of holistic health and wellness, using yoga and exercise. Working with an intern can be beneficial, as it can offer clients reduced costs for self-pay. Also, interns are supervised, so a more seasoned mental health professional works with the intern outside of sessions.
