Megan Young is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Rehabilitation Counselor. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Bachelor of Science in Health & Society from Southern Methodist University, prior to completing her Master’s in Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Her clinical training includes working in community mental health at Momentous Institute, where she worked to support children and families providing individual counseling and experiential group therapy services. Following the completion of her graduate studies in 2019, Megan has worked within private practice conducting evaluations for the diagnosis of various learning, attentional, emotional, and behavioral disorders, as well as providing individual therapy services. In her clinical work, Megan enjoys working with children and adolescents to aid in enhancing emotional regulation, communication, and problem-solving strategies. She utilizes cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness techniques, as well as developmentally appropriate experiential and play-based activities, to support self-understanding and promote adaptive coping strategies.
