Introduction

I’m Megan Fulden, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist based in Durham, North Carolina. I am a queer and neurodivergent affirming psychotherapist who utilizes a trauma-informed approach in my work with older teens and adults. I’m excited to structure our sessions to help you meet your specific and unique therapy goals. The last few years have been trying for many folks, including (but certainly not limited to) women, queer, and BIPOC folks. If you are interested in starting your mental health journey with someone who did not vote against basic human rights in this last election, then I am your gal! Are you struggling to find a “new normal” after the absolute dumpster fire life has been since 2020? Perhaps conflict with family, friends, or at work has left you feeling burned out, overwhelmed, anxious, or stressed—or maybe you have recently experienced an upsetting or traumatic event? There is no better time than today to start your wellness journey by prioritizing your own mental health, putting yourself first, and seeking out the support you deserve. Therapy is YOUR space to talk about tough stuff, process unresolved feelings, and construct and add tools to your self-care toolbox. If you’re ready to jumpstart your mental health or gain some new coping skills, you’ve come to the right place! Megan attended North Carolina State University for undergraduate school where she earned a degree in social work. She went on to obtain her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Pittsburgh, where she specialized in psychotherapy and mental health care. Her background includes providing clinical care in hospitals, hospices, and group practice settings. Megan has experience in providing family, group, and individual therapy. Common presenting issues include relationship stressors, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and identity exploration. Additionally, Megan serves as a mentor with the North Carolina Society for Clinical Social Work and holds a certificate from the National Association of Social Workers NC Chapter in clinical supervision. She is trained in EMDR and dually licensed as a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and a licensed clinical addiction specialist (LCAS)
