Megan joins Jackel Counseling after recently graduating with her Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology. She gained experience at Brookside Counselors, working with adults, adolescents, children, and families and received hands-on training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). She co-facilitates DBT skills groups at Brookside Counseling for adults and adolescents that provide psychoeducation in; mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, emotion regulation, and walking the middle path. Megan uses Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) concepts and skills as a foundation for her practice. She incorporates somatic therapies, mindfulness, movement therapies, and psychodynamic strategies. She has a whole person perspective that allows for challenges to the internal and external experiences of an individual or family unit. As well as an emphasis on the somatic experiences that assist in identifying the sensations in their bodies to develop the mind-body connection that propels growth, healing, and nervous system regulation. Megan works closely with individuals that have experienced big T and little t traumas, Autism Spectrum Disorders, Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and other mood and personality disorders, ADHD, anxiety, depression, impulsively, compulsivity, addiction, and social skills... Megan's resilience through her own adversity allows her to help her clients find their own creative ways to approach obstacles that keep them feeling stuck. She believes in a holistic approach to mental health and uses many modalities to help her clients find peace.
