Introduction

My approach to therapy is collaborative, relationship driven, and rooted in helping you understand the way your attachment style influences your relationships, habits, and patterns of behavior. The past does not have to hold us hostage, but it does influence how we understand and respond to the present. The ways we learn to navigate and survive challenges early in life frequently gets us stuck in a cycle of anxiety, depression, and relationship struggles. If this sounds familiar, the good news is you can learn new ways of understanding yourself and the world around you and find a path to emotional freedom and self-determination. In our work together, I will serve as a compassionate witness and guide to your healing and personal growth. We will work to bring context to your history, understand your defense mechanisms, and develop a new schema for self-understanding. In our sessions together we will stay curious about how and why you respond to stressors the way you do and develop goals together as partners on your journey toward healing and recovery. I specialize in grief and loss, trauma/PTSD and associated challenges, relationship and intimacy issues, recovering from sexual assault, anxiety, depression, and Bipolar Disorder. I use a variety of evidence based therapeutic approaches including: - Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) - Parts therapy - Attachment based therapy - Prolonged Exposure - Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
