Introduction

My name is Meghan McCloskey, and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Florida. I earned my master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Florida State University in 2012. I have been working in the mental health field for almost 13 years, in a variety of settings, including outpatient, residential, and in-home services. Since 2020 I have been providing telehealth services in addition to in-person sessions, and I have found that telehealth services can be just as beneficial and the flexibility helpful for most clients. My typical approach to counseling is client-centered and trauma-informed, in which I tend to incorporate Cognitive-Behavioral, Motivational Enhancement, and Solution-Focused techniques and strategies. I want you to know that you are in charge of your own treatment, and I am here for any type of support that you might need along the way. Together, we will process your concerns, identify potential goals, and develop a plan that you feel comfortable with. I am also here to provide you with a safe space for you to be yourself and to vocalize your feelings in whichever way you are comfortable.
