Are you looking for help to address behavioral changes you've observed in your child? Are you hoping to find a therapist who can not only work with your child, but support you in understanding those behaviors? Is your child also struggling to navigate the challenges in the school setting? I am here for you! I have worked for over a decade supporting children and teens with their mental health within the school setting and know the challenges and stressors that come with navigating academics, peer relationships, identity issues (to name a few) within that setting and also in their other environments. I would love to help you understand your child's behaviors and support you in communicating that to teachers or other school staff so they can help your child improve their mental wellness and development. In our therapy session, I take an attachment-based approach with the belief that healing occurs best within relationships. I provide my clients with an accepting, safe, light-hearted, and sometimes humorous setting to explore emotions that may be affecting their relationships or life satisfaction. I believe that this approach, coupled with play, art, and other creative client-centered modalities can help to manage the issues of anxiety, depression, trauma, early attachment issues, grief and loss, or whatever issue you or your child may be navigating through. I also have specialized training and experience in treating issues specific to families formed through foster/adoption or relative caregiving and would love to provide support in understanding the core issues in adoption and permanency. The issues of adoption and permanency can affect all members of the "adoption constellation" (birth parents, adoptive children, adoptive parents) in different ways throughout their lives so if this sounds like something you may be struggling with, don't hesitate to reach out! I'm looking forward to chatting with you about your family's needs. Best wishes on your healing journey!
