As the founder & clinical director, she is a Licensed Certified Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C) in Florida, Maryland, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia & Washington, D.C. Melissa is a Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapist (C-DBT) and experienced psychotherapist and couples therapist. A graduate of the University of Maryland’s School of Social Work, Melissa majored in Clinical-Behavioral Health with a sub-specialization in work wellness and Employee Assistance (EAP). With a caring, trauma-informed approach, she excels in giving clients the tools they need to tackle anxiety, depression, and trauma symptoms that may be interfering with their path to health and happiness. Every individual carries a unique story, and Melissa’s mission is to guide you in unraveling the chapters that may be holding you back. Whether you’re grappling with a recent life change or a persistent issue, Melissa’s collaborative, strengths-based perspective empowers you to understand your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, you’ll develop a personalized toolbox of strategies, assisting you in managing anxiety, depression, and trauma/PTSD symptoms. With a specialized focus on treatment for OCD using ERP (the evidence-based, gold-standard treatment for OCD), Melissa’s expertise encompasses anxiety disorders, depression, trauma and PTSD, mood disorders, sexual dysfunction issues, and pelvic pain disorders. As a Gottman-trained couples therapist, she also has a passion for working with couples navigating the complexities of OCD and anxiety disorders within their relationships. She also has experience treating BFRBs. Melissa finds great fulfillment in offering therapeutic services to fellow therapists and those in helping professions. Underpinning Melissa’s approach are her advanced training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), both evidence-based treatments for improving mental health.
