I graduated in 2019 from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Master of Science in Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling. I graduated in 2006 from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Master of Teaching in Elementary Education. I have been working with children, adolescents, and their families for 20+ years. I have experience working in a public school setting where I have guided children and their families both academically and emotionally. I also have experience working with children, adolescents, and their families in crisis at a crisis stabilization unit, where I lead group therapy, individual therapy, and family therapy. I am considered an out of network provider. which means, I am self-pay only and I will not bill your insurance provider. Receipts are provided to submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. Please check with your insurance provider in advance about fees and deductibles. I can help you navigate the reimbursement process. It is a simple 5 minute process and you are typically reimbursed within two weeks of the session. Additionally, if you itemize your taxes, then my fees may be deductible on your taxes. Please check with your accountant. You may wish to ask a live representative from your health insurance provider: “Do I have mental health insurance benefits?” “What is my out of network mental health benefit reimbursement rate?” “Do I have an out of network deductible and has it been met?” Be sure to ask about: deductibles (how much you have to pay before the insurance company will begin paying), co-pays (how much the insurance company expects you to pay per session), fee caps (some companies will only pay out up to a certain dollar amount), session limits (some insurance companies limit the number of sessions they will cover per year), claims address (the address where claims must be sent in order to get reimbursement), preauthorization requirements (ask whether preauthorization is required for out of network mental health services and the process for obtaining it.
