Introduction

Melissa is a compassionate and skilled Licensed Associate Professional Counselor dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges. With a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (Trauma Emphasis) from Grand Canyon University, she specializes in working with adolescents and adults facing life transitions, especially surrounding the LGBTQ+ community. She wants to be the person that she never had through her own LGBTQ+ journey. Melissa is also trained in Perinatal Mental Health, offering support to both men and women as they navigate the journey of parenthood. Melissa takes a client-centered, collaborative approach, tailoring therapy to everyone’s unique needs. She has experience working with LGBTQ+ concerns, anxiety, depression, grief/loss, women’s health, men’s health, relationship struggles, and family dynamics/transitions. Melissa incorporates a variety of evidence-based techniques, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and Solution-Focused Therapy. As a lifelong learner, she continuously expands her knowledge to bring the most effective, research-backed treatments into her sessions. Her current focus is training to become certified in Internal Family Systems (IFS). Her philosophy is simple: Meet you where you are and support you in creating the life you want.
