Introduction

Therapy works best when you find the "right" person. Below, you can learn a little more about me, my approach, and my passions. BACKGROUND I was a first-generation college student and have a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Southern Indiana (2014). I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Indiana. My professional experience includes working with people in community mental health, higher education, and public safety/crisis settings. PASSIONS Having worked in the public safety (law enforcement, specifically) and crisis world for the last 5+ years (and currently!) as a mental health professional, my heart has grown for those who work in public safety and their families. I am also similarly passionate about working with the military community and am a Star Behavioral Health Provider and in the VA Community Care Network. The work being done every day by our military and first responders, while rewarding, can be extremely heavy. I see you! Through my professional experience in higher education (and my own personal experience!), I have worked with many students experiencing the challenge of finding the right balance with school, work, and personal life along with the fears/worries of making big decisions about their futures. The 20s and 30s are often a whirlwind. I see you! Survivors of crime, sudden loss, and other unexpected events are also a priority for my practice. MY CLINICAL APPROACH I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) models in my practice. I work with the client to decide what will work best for them. EDUCATION/CONSULTING I can provide education/consulting on numerous topics, including compassion fatigue, the stress cycle, wellness for first responders, basic program development and evaluation (particularly as it relates to wellness programming, peer support teams, social services programs, etc.), and by request! Please don't hesitate to reach out for more information! ABOUT ME I currently live in the Bloomington area with my husband of 10 years and my precious dog, Millie. I enjoy being outside (running, kayaking, etc.), traveling (in the U.S. and abroad), and volunteering in my free time.
