Introduction

Dr. Melody Caldwell holds a doctorate in counseling psychology (Psy.D.) and a master’s degree in professional counseling from Carlow University, as well as a master’s in nonprofit management from Robert Morris University and dual bachelor’s degrees in communications and political science from Temple University. Melody has deeply explored the psychological issues related to trauma, incarceration, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, gender identity and transitioning, personality disorders, as well as familial, relationship and socioeconomic stressors. She is a Licensed Psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania, and has provided services at Pittsburgh Action Against Rape, State Correctional Institution in Greene County, North Carolina Department of Public Safety, Allegheny County Jail, and more. Melody is a Certified Grief Therapist and earned certificates for specialized training in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Expression, and is a certified trainer for Mental Health First Aid. Melody is a member of American Psychological Association (APA) and the Pennsylvania Psychology Association (PPA). Melody has experience in IQ, personality, drug and alcohol, and projective assessments. She is a mom and wife. She values the importance of humor in life and in therapy.
