Hello! My name is Melody, and I am a second-year Master's student in Marriage and Family Therapy at Capella University. Before pursuing my graduate degree, I attended Florida International University and received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I chose to pursue a career as a therapist because I am passionate about helping and supporting people as they learn to navigate life's many challenges. With the proper support and guidance, I believe that anyone can learn how to work through life's obstacles and overcome adversity. My theoretical approach is mainly influenced by principles from Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, Bowenian Therapy, and attachment theory, and I'm inspired by the work of Russell Barkley, John Gottman, and Esther Perel. I have a strong desire to help those struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, communication, boundary-setting, life transitions, and mood disorders. Given my cultural background, I'm also eager to work with the Hispanic population. I will create a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment in our sessions where we can actively collaborate to explore your strengths, challenges, and patterns, aiming for a more profound comprehension of your life experiences. This insight will serve as a foundation for you to enact meaningful change and progress toward a happier, healthier, and truly fulfilling life. I'm honored to have the opportunity to join you on your journey toward healing and growth. I look forward to meeting you and working together toward a brighter future!
