Introduction

Merna is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and a Registered Play Therapist™. She earned her Master’s degree in Marriage & Family Therapy from Lipscomb University. Merna uses a person-centered, integrative, and systemic approach to help individuals and families increase their emotional expression and enhance their communication styles. She believes that the answers to many of the struggles we go through in life come from within us and that, through effective communication and emotional disclosure, we can build stronger relationships to endure the hardships we encounter in life. Merna is a TraumaPlay Certified Therapist, a Certified PCIT Therapist, a Prepare/Enrich Facilitator, and a QPR Gatekeeper Instructor. Merna is also trained and continues to seek training in EMDR (Levels 1 & 2), Brainspotting (Levels 1 & 2), Theraplay™ (Levels 1 & 2), Group Theraplay™, Digital Play Therapy, Prepare/Enrich, The Gottman Method (Levels 1 & 2), and Restoration Therapy (Level 1).
