With your consent, I use therapeutic approaches to assist you in taking an objective stance in your story, and in offering yourself compassion. Continuing through developing and honing in on how you understand your experience through strengthening the connection between your mind and body. I am trained in Ego State Work aka Parts Work, and am IFS informed. I also use Somatic work and mindfulness as a way to for you to attune to your needs during session and throughout the process. I am also trained in and have used EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing) with teens and adults of both the neurodiverse (Autism, ADHD, etc.) and neurotypical populations. EMDR is used in session, with your consent, when you feel the need to address larger internal hurdles such as phobias or trauma(s) (also known as PTSD or C-PTSD) as well as anxiety, depression and other concerns. I am currently on-track to becoming certified in EMDR. The process requires extensive trainings and consultations with approved EMDRIA practitioners. All of the work will be done at your pace and with your specific needs in mind. Need the lights low? Great, I can do that. Need them bright? Sure, I can do that too. Wanna doodle and talk? Yes! I can work with that. Wanna lay on the floor and cry? I get that, and will have a pillow and blanket ready for you, or you can just lay on the floor as you wish. To me, there is no one-way to approach healing. I am an affirming counselor and believe counseling should be for everyone. I understand the systemic pressure that can have you trying to “get it right!” A benefit to you may be my stance on de-stigmatizing mental health by avoiding rigid diagnoses and accepting that there is more than one way to live and thrive in this/your world. During diagnostic assessments, I use both screeners and narrative-based assessments to provide a full picture of how you experience ASD and/or ADHD. I will be ready when you are. Until then, good luck on your search. My license number is #93296. I am supervised by Lacie Hamilton, LPC-S | #69862 in Houston, Tx.
