Mica views the child and parent as important members of the therapy team and collaborates to establish individualized strength-based treatment goals. When working with young children, Mica focuses on behavioral modification and play therapy. For older children and adolescents, Mica works from a CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) lens in which the therapist and client explore the relationship between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in order to examine how they influence current states (depressed, anxious, etc.). The therapist and client can then work to create new connections by examining and changing how they evaluate situations and react. Mica can be reached at mica.houghlpc@gmail.com for any questions about the therapy process or to schedule an appointment.
