I work well with clients who are experiencing anxiety-based disorders (generalized anxiety, social phobias, relational issues). I have knowledge and experience working with mood disorders, marital/intimate relationship issues, sudden life changes (loss of job, big move, end of relationship), grief and loss, and general existential malaise. My clients are adult professionals who have found difficulty identifying or prioritizing their own core values. I work as well with people who are new to therapy as those who have "tried it all". A feeling of safety and confidentiality is paramount to the deep and sacred work of self-discovery that occurs in my practice. I seek to model honesty, directness, and vulnerability with clients so that they can experience the unique freedoms that arise from an honest and open dialogue. Cultivating curiosity is one of the routine ways I work with folks to develop new skills like forgiveness, somatic awareness, and the establishment and validation of core values. I also utilize mindfulness practice and offer a specialized mindfulness training course as an alternative therapeutic option for those who want to focus on hard skills or those who want to supplement a robust personal contemplative practice. I welcome all skill levels.
