I have been in the mental health field for 25 years. It has been a joy and honor to support youth, adults, and families strive in personal growth and relationships. I have always loved to help people feel heard, supported, and encouraged. In my practice, I assist in processing trauma, correcting dysfunctional core beliefs, and continuously building on coping skills. I use a collaborative approach and meet you where you are, while also coaching and encouraging you to take steps towards healing. There is no right or wrong way to feel about what you have experienced because it is just that, your own experience. It's important to acknowledge this and be gentle with yourself through this process. We each have a story that makes us who we are and we continue to experience events that force us to adjust to another way of being in the world. I will help you do this in a healthy way. I use an eclectic approach which includes, process work (helping you become aware of the different ways you express experiences whether through having physical symptoms, dreams, relationships, the conscious or subconscious, etc.) psychodynamic therapy (gaining insight into how your past experiences influence thinking, emotions, and behavior) EMDR (a trauma therapy technique), and lastly incorporating your faith (utilizing your spiritual or religious resources for strength in coping with trauma). So, I invite you to meet with me to share your story and how you experience it so that we can work together on finding constructive ways to make it work for you. In the process, you will experience a variety of feelings, of course, but most importantly you will feel in control and empowered as you gain insight. Be patient with the process of healing. It's not easy but, with each step you are getting closer to where you want to be.
