As a therapist, my first goal is to get to know you and understand the experiences that have shaped who you are. I view therapy as a collaborative process—your goals are the foundation of our work together, and I want to know what you hope to accomplish in therapy. From there, we’ll explore the root causes of your struggles through a trauma-informed lens. Education is an important part of the process. Understanding the issues we face is a key step in healing them, so I provide psychoeducation tailored to your specific needs to help you make sense of the challenges you're facing. One of the powerful tools I use in my practice is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy. EMDR is an evidence-based practice that has been used for over 30 years, initially to treat PTSD. It’s now recognized as highly effective for addressing a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, complex PTSD, grief, breakups, and low self-esteem. EMDR utilizes bilateral stimulation—such as eye movements, tapping, or auditory cues—to access parts of the brain that talk therapy alone cannot reach. It helps you detach from painful experiences, reframe them, and store those memories in a healthier way. My style is straightforward and honest, and I take a holistic approach to healing the root causes of emotional pain. If my approach resonates with you, I invite you to reach out so we can set up a time to talk.
